Etapp 2 Gustavsfors - Dals Långed

In Gustavsfors there are several restaurants and accommodations in the picturesque harbor area where the Dalsland Canal also passes. Here you can also rent bicycles, canoes, kayaks and trolleys.

The 30 km long route down to Bengtsfors winds along gravel roads along forest and countryside down to Kråkviken where Silverlake Camp offers accommodation, rental of trolleys, canoes and bicycles. Here you can of course also have some well-deserved coffee. From Kråkviken the route goes along road 172 down to Bengtsfors. One tip is to rent a trolley at Silverlake Camp and take your bike on it down to Bengtsfors. Via the railway you get even closer to nature and you avoid the mixed traffic the last few miles down to Bengtsfors.

In Bengtsfors there is a wide range of coffee places, accommodation and service. Don't miss a visit to Gammelgården's open-air museum when you are here. In Bengtsfors there is a bicycle shop with spare parts and bicycle service if the need arises.

From Bengtsfors to Dals Långed you cycle combined with the national cycle path Unionsleden. Here the path runs on an old railway embankment along the Dalsland Canal. If you want, you can travel the route to Dals Långed by rail bus or by one of the canal boats that depart from Bengtsfors, it is of course possible to bring your bicycle on board. If you do not take a canal boat, you should still visit the 18th lock, which is perhaps the most cozy lock area on the canal.
