Stege 9 goes from Karleby, with its historical origins, towards Mariestad. The way is along a gravel and paved road consisting of both open land-scape, forest and some buildings. During this step you will, among other things, see the beautiful beach Sandviken. Stege 9 ends in Mariestad where you can find restaurants, shops and accommodation. Mariestad Cathedral with its tall church tower gives the city a special aura.

How to get here

Karleby is about one kilometer from a bus stop. This is located along road 26. The bus goes to and from Mariestad center and Skövde center. Stage 9 ends at Mariestad train station. From here you can go to Lidköping as well as to Gothenburg and Laxå (with some departures all the way to Hallsberg and Örebro).
