The third part of Kuststigens stretch across Orust, from shopping in Göksäter, up to the fantastic view at Sven's altar and on to the ferry stop at Malö Strömmar.
On the island of Orust, the Kuststigen-trail consists of the hiking trail "Across Orust", four different stages on a total of 44 kilometers of nature and cultural trail - from coast to coast. Along the route there is a wide range of cultural and natural monuments and thus is both a natural and cultural geographic experience. Along the trail there are many good examples of how the cultural landscape has evolved and changed since the first people came to Orust more than 10,000 years ago.
The section begins in Göksäter and crosses Orust in a westerly direction along an open cultivated landscape and through forests. After a few kilometers the trail reaches the beautiful lake Rödsvatten. From here the trail is more more hilly and goes up to the top of Slottsberget and the viewpoint of Svens Altare. Here the hiker has fantastic views of both the sea and the archipelago.
The trail now turns south and comes after another 1.5 km to the magical lake Håltavatten. Here you can rest on the remains of an old tannery.
The trail continues through the deep valley Lunneklev towards Morlanda where the landscape opens and the trail follows smaller roads down to the ferry location where the ferry crosses Malö strömmar.
Here the coastal path continues by ferry over to Malön and Flatön.
